Hard Hats, Hammers, and Hot Dogs
Results
 The Workforce Development Task Force of Kootenai County
introduced a very successful event in April 2008, titled, “Hard Hats, Hammers & Hot Dogs”. The
event was designed as a manufacturing and construction
career day
for middle and high school kids in Kootenai County. The goal
of this event was to make young people aware of the
tremendous opportunities ranging from entry level
apprenticeship and hi tech positions to professional
opportunities that exist in our area.
The
response from the event was extremely positive, both from the
students themselves as well as from the businesses that
participated. The following results were derived from
student surveys after the event:
